Our Visión
Located in the centre of Uruguay, in the department of Flores. Our Pedigree breeding unit came about, with the dream of breeding Aberdeen Angus cattle of high genetic potential, producing animals of excellent carcass quality in natural conditions at pasture.
In today’s changing world in constant evolution, efficiency in production is key. For that reason, the noble Aberdeen Angus adapts perfectly into our system, allowing our products to stand out for their superior quality. For that very reason, Angus beef is known worldwide as a ‘Brand’ of quality.
Our herd is aimed at producing meat of excellence for export. We have selected greatly the herd to produce highly funcional animals, which is one of our main goals. Our aim is to produce productive animals that are well structured, rustic, fertile and easy to maintain.
We select our mothers based on productive efficiency, a key factor in today’s world. Those that do not produce a calf per year are culled. Our selection over the years means the herd is geared up to produce vigorous animals that develop rapidly, are easy to maintain and calve easily; they fend for themselves, with minimal need for assistance.
As a tool for genetic improvement, we use the EPD data (Expected Progeny Difference). Bearing in mind our production goals we are constantly looking to improve our breeding programme. We also put strong emphasis on genetic investment, incorporating into our herd, genetics of the highest quality recognised for its production quality, both nationally and internationally. This has led in recent years to heavy investment in both donor cows and embryos of outstanding quality.
Our main goal is producing quality beef, therefore we always seek higher returns in business. This gives us the reassurance that the products we offer will respond effectively to the breeding system into which they will be integrated.
